For more than 3 years travelling in Pangasinan I finally found some time to look for a club or a playing venue in Dagupan.
A few minutes away from Calasiao right in the heart of Dagupan City Department of Education I met Sir Edil Abalos, DepEd Education Program Supervisor.
I asked him where I could find a table tennis club here in Dagupan. He stood up and pointed me just in front of his office building. Unfortunately there were no players during that time. I was hoping i'll be able to meet some kids or the coach. Sir Edil told me players usually come pass 5 pm and trains during the weekend. He said that there are no official club or club name for the group yet and still at the process of organizing a clinic this summer.
I couldn't help but think of the potentials and the opportunities for the place. A table tennis venue just in front of the Dep Ed and with a Supervisor more than willing to reach out and create a haven for all enthusiasts and table tennis professionals. I had so many questions to ask but, I was in the hurry to go back to Tarlac. Before I left mr. Edil told me to go back some other time so we could table down our plans and programs to help the kids. He also told me IRAA will be held this March16 to 24 at CB Mall.
The place is very much conducive to training. There are other 2 tables in safekeeping so, all in all they have 4 functioning boards. Nets are still to be provided for and still under request. Most players and coaches bring bring their own for the mean time.
I can't wait to go back again and meet the players. I'd like to see the place alive and full of fun. Many thanks to Mr. Edil for warmly welcoming me. I just wished we could have more time to discuss and talk about how we could help each other and develop talents. I left with a hopeful note that I will certainly be back in full battle gear.
